Everton in the Community - Remembrance Day

I had the privilege of joining Jonjoe Kenny, Michael Keane, and the Everton Heritage Society to plant some trees at the Community Hub on Spellow Lane to commemorate the Everton representatives who lost their lives serving in the first world war.

My dad Mike Royden (pictured between Kenny & Keane) was responsible for researching and compiling the stories of these men into a leaflet for publication, and had the added pleasure of teaching the current players about their own ancestors who served, before giving the audience a detailed talk on the stories of the lost heroes.

It's truly an honour to have spent time with Everton in the Community and their incredible charity work is clear for all to see. A very proud day for myself and the family.
